Q: I'm concerned the day is going to be a whirlwind. We're going directly from ceremony to receiving line to reception to dinner to cake cutting to dancing -- will there be time to breathe?
A: Only if you make time! Plan a few moments here and there to steal away with your fiancé and reflect on your day together. Consider these options:
After you are both dressed, spend some time alone with your fiancé in an out-of-the way place before the flurry of photographs begins.
If your receiving line is immediately after the ceremony, instruct your ushers to wait a few minutes before releasing guests so you can experience your first moments as newlyweds in private.
Hire a smaller car (perhaps a classic Rolls Royce?) to drive the two of you to your reception and book a limousine to transport the rest of your wedding party.
When your band or D.J. plays for your first dance, ask that they make an announcement requesting that all guests remain in their seats so you can have the dance floor to yourselves.
