A: Over the years, cake top styles have changed as much as gown styles. When I got married, there was one choice: the plastic couple figurine my baker provided as part of the cost of the cake! Today, I especially like to see personal elements on the wedding cake. I love the idea of placing the couple's engagement photo in a frame or easel and having it displayed on the top of their wedding cake, perhaps surrounded by flowers. Many couples today are also using their cakes as ways to add playful personal touches to their weddings. I was at a formal evening wedding not too long ago and was surprised and delighted to see that the bride and groom had a figurine of adorable married mice on their beautifully decorated wedding cake!
